Senior Grades

Bayside Baseball provides Senior Grades in affiliation with Auckland Baseball Association and Baseball New Zealand. All these grades are played against other Auckland Baseball Association clubs around Auckland. Big League is played on Saturdays, while the rest of the Senior divisions are played on Sundays. Baseball New Zealand and Auckland Baseball Association provide tournaments and championships for all of these age grades.

 

Big League (19U)

The Big League Division uses a 60-foot, 6 inches pitching distance and a 90-foot diamond. Its competitive adult baseball for the young adults in this division, however its available to all skill levels in the age group. Players ages range between 17 and 19.

Fee: $286 Bayside fee. Will also include either $17.85 BNZ affiliation fee until 17 or $29.80 for 18+, Auckland Baseball Association fees for teams, training shirt and covers our equipment/facilities/payment processing costs.

Time: Saturday afternoons. No new innings started after 2hr 50mins.

 

Premier and Premier Reserve

Premier League is the highest grade of baseball offered in New Zealand and features many import players and professional-grade players. This league is highly competitive and teams are carefully selected by Bayside. The Premier Reserve grade provides a breeding ground for future Premier players and is also highly competitive. This grade is open to players 16+.

Premier

Fee: $445.80. Includes $29.80 BNZ affiliation fee, Auckland Baseball Association fees for teams, training shirt and covers our equipment/facilities/payment processing costs.

Time: Sundays. No time limit.

Premier Reserve:

Fee: $341.80. Includes $29.80 BNZ affiliation fee, Auckland Baseball Association fees for teams, training shirt and covers our equipment/facilities/payment processing costs.

Time: Sundays. No new innings started after 2hr 20mins.

Divisional Baseball

Divisional consists of several levels of open age grade baseball that increase in competitiveness. While all the grades are recreational, the percentage of “recreational” to “competitive” increases as the league number goes up. Divisional 1 is the most competitive of the recreational leagues while Divisional 3 is the most recreational. Divisional Baseball is where we see alot of our “full squad” baseball familes complete the picture as the parents play Divisional while their children play other grades. Yes, YOU can play baseball too parents, so get out there! If you already have a whole squad, you can also bring your entire team to Bayside and enter it in one of these leagues but be affiliated with Bayside and utilise our facilities and grounds. Contact president@baysidebaseball.co.nz for more information! Last season’s teams were: Bayside Howlers (Div3 club team), Rays (Div1/2 affiliated team), Samurai (Div 1 affiliated team). This grade is open to 16+ and Bayside has registered players from 16 to 60 years old.
