Junior/Youth Grades

Under the Baseball New Zealand and Auckland Baseball Association framework, Bayside Baseball provides Little League certified grades of baseball. All ages referenced below refer to the “Little League age” of your child, not the actual age. You can check what your player’s age is with Bayside’s Grade Selector below. All grades are mixed gender. We accept brand new players to baseball at all grades.

From Minor League and above, all grades are played on Saturdays around Auckland against other clubs in the Auckland Baseball Association. Games are time-limited (see each grade). The roughly 14 game season is split into two halves. One starts in early November and finishes mid-Dec. There is a Christmas/New Year break and then the second half of the season starts late January to mid-March where depending on the grades an Auckland Baseball finals day is run for each grade.

From Major League and above, players also have the opportunity for international tournament play by trialling for the Auckland All Stars squad of that age group. Many Baysiders have experienced this in Korea, Taiwan, Japan and the United States. There are also other opportunities for more baseball in New Zealand with visiting international teams and trips to Levin and Australia with private organisations that we always keep our members informed on.

Multiple Grades

As Auckland Baseball Association schedules games in mornings and afternoons with grades alternating, its possible to play dual grades. Since some costs still occur at the team level, we provide a discounted fee of $100 to play a second grade. Just pay your primary grade at your age level, and then pay the $100 multiple grade fee (you do not need to pay in full for the second grade).

*Note: All fees on this page are provided as a guide, final confirmation of fees are provided in the registration products page. We have summed the BNZ fee and the club fee together here to make it easier to understand but they are separate products in the registration process.
