World Children's Baseball Fair 2010 Tokyo, Japan

Baseball New Zealand has, once again, been invited to send 5 players and 1 Chaperone to the World Children’s Baseball Fair in Tokyo, Japan from the 29th of July to 6th August 2010.

The objective of the World Children’s Baseball Fair is to promote worldwide baseball expansion and at the same time to provide a tool for international exchange among the different nations around the world.

The last games for the season will be held on 27 March 2010,with there also being games on 20 March.

For the younger grades Tball and Under 11's there wll be games and once the structure of how these will be played we will let you know.

Permanent Diamond Update

As most of you know we are currently applying to Auckland City Council for resource consent to establish permanent baseball diamonds at Crossfield Reserve.

We have been working closely with Council and have been incredibly lucky to have the expertise and assistance of Kerry Avery from Avery Team Architecture in dealing with any issues that have arisen with Council. Kerry's team have also provided great plans and perspectives of what we are proposing.

Once we have consent the next big issue will be the funding required to make them a reality and we are likely to embark on some fund raising initiatives and get as much help as possible from they various experts in the Club that can help.

It is the aim to have at least one permanent diamond complete for the start of next season.
